Franklin Murder Suspects Held For Court

The two suspects in a brutal murder in Franklin were held for court following a preliminary hearing in Venango County Court on Monday.

28 year-old Richard Kennedy, from Vandergrift, and 32 year-old Amanda Cypher, from Franklin, remain lodged without bail in the Venango County Jail.  Both are charged in the beating death of 25 year-old Tausha Baker, of Franklin, whose body was found at a brush fire scene along Waterworks Road just outside of Franklin on the afternoon of October 27.

An autopsy has revealed the causes of death as multiple sharp force injuries and blunt force trauma to the head.  Investigators believe Baker was beaten to death at a home on New Street in Franklin, and her body was transported to, and abandoned at the fire scene.

Testimony from some eleven individuals at the preliminary hearing indicated that drugs and a money debt were involved in the crimes.
