A Franklin man was sentenced this week to up to 6-and-a-half years in state prison on charges connected with the multiple stabbings of a man in Oil City and the theft of a wallet from a woman who later offered him a ride.
40 year-old Thomas Peeples was convicted in May on charges of aggravated and simple assault, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property. He was accused of stabbing a man in the eye, the nose and the chest during a fight outside an Oil City bar early on the morning of September 27, 2012. Local police say Peeples then fled to a nearby convenience store, hopped a ride to Franklin, and left the vehicle with a wallet belonging to the woman who drove him there.
Peeples was also ordered to pay over $11,000 in restitution to the two victims.
