A Franklin man was convicted last week on a charge of reckless endangerment, but was found not guilty on three other counts in an incident last June in which a woman from western Venango County was stabbed.

Sentencing for 30 year-old Jonathan Leonard will be held later this month.

In Venango County Court, Leonard was acquitted on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault.

Police had accused Leonard of stabbing his girlfriend’s mother who had reportedly stepped between Leonard and her daughter during an argument at the mother’s residence on Judson Road in Canal Township.  The victim, 46 year-old Delores Tompkins, was treated for her injuries at an Erie hospital.
