A Franklin-area man will be charged following an early morning accident on Route 965 that resulted in a passenger being seriously injured.
Police say Travis Shingledecker fled the scene, leaving the passenger lying under a guard rail.
State Police officials say the crash occurred at about 3:00 AM Sunday. Shingledecker’s car reportedly left the road and flipped numerous times along an embankment before coming to rest back on the road. A passenger, identified as Joseph Denny from Evans City, was ejected from the vehicle and landed about fifty feet from the car along the highway’s guard rails. Denny’s injuries were described as severe. He was flown to an Erie hospital for treatment.
Police say they found Shingledecker at his home. Charges are also pending against a woman who allegedly drove Shingledecker from the scene of the crash.
