Franklin General Authority Says City Needs To Pay For Its Own Water

At a special meeting last week, the Franklin General Authority board revealed that the city of Franklin has not been paying for the water usage at city-owned buildings.

The Authority has announced they intend to bill the city, retroactively in at least one case.

The General Authority says there has been an agreement in effect since 1977 in which the city is expected to pick up the tab for its own water service.

Board members say the discrepancy was discovered during a study made by a consulting firm which had been hired to evaluate the Authority and its effectiveness.
