Charges have been filed in Crawford County against a Franklin financial adviser accused of transferring more than $183,000 from two accounts held by an elderly client.
The alleged victim has been identified as a 97 year-old Meadville woman.
69 year-old David Seagren was arraigned Monday on 51 charges, including multiple counts of theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking and forgery for transactions that allegedly occurred over a nearly three-year period between early 2011 and December, 2013. He was placed in the Crawford County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
Reports from Meadville indicate that a business partner of Seagren’s brought the situation to the attention of legal authorities, and that Seagren actually was to have represented the alleged victim only as an insurance agent.
