A former Venango County probation officer has been ordered to stand trial on seventeen charges stemming from accusations that he sexually assaulted two women who had been court-ordered to the county supervision program.

The charges against 39 year-old Marc Taylor, from Knox, include rape.

In a preliminary hearing Wednesday, one woman testified that she engaged numerous times in sex with Taylor, in exchange for his ignoring of her many parole violations, including taking illegal drugs and violating house arrest rules.  A second woman testified that Taylor tried to force himself on her while asserting that a urine drug test she had taken was tainted, and that Taylor had threatened to cause her problems when she resisted and told him to leave her home.

The allegations cover the time period from 2007 until 2010.  It appears an investigation into Taylor’s alleged actions began last year.

Taylor is free on $40,000 bond.
