Former Oil City Man Acquitted Of Homicide; Will Be Sentenced On Other Charges

March 12, 2018

A former Oil City man was acquitted of a homicide charge in Erie County Court last week, but he will be sentenced next month on lesser charges.

23 year-old Devin Stevenson had been charged in the death of 24 year-old O’Shae Imes, from Rochester, New York, during a drug deal at an apartment complex near Edinboro University in March, 2015.  Imes and a companion, Andrew Baker from Coatesville, were both shot during the incident.  Imes, who reportedly had pulled a pellet gun on Stevenson before the shootings, died almost exactly one year later at a hospital in Rochester.

Baker was a key witness in the trial last week.  Following his recovery from a shoulder injury, he still must face a charge of conspiracy in the case.

Stevenson, meanwhile, was convicted on a charge of carrying an unlicensed firearm and three drug-related counts.  He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 20.
