A former Clarion High School shop teacher was sentenced last week to 10-to-20 years in state prison following his guilty pleas last January in two cases in which he had been accused of sexually assaulting young boys.

Accusations against 62 year-old Gary Weckerly, from Sligo, stemmed from incidents reported to have occurred in 1987, and at Weckerly’s home in 2006.  They were levied by three different individuals, including two men who are now in their 40′s.

Weckerly pleaded guilty to three charges, including the rape of a child.  In return for the pleas, more than 160 other counts were dismissed.  Weckerly has also been declared a lifetime sexually-violent predator under Pennsylvania’s “Megan’s Law.”
