Former Clarion, Allegheny Football Coach Charles Ruslavage Dies At 84

Former Clarion University and Allegheny College football coach Charles Ruslavage died at a hospital in Pittsburgh on Monday.

Ruslavage was 84.

Ruslavage graduated from Coaldale High School in 1949, and after a stint in the U.S. Coast Guard, attended and played football at Penn State.  After a stint as a coach at Allegheny, he joined the Clarion coaching staff from 1964 through 1988, serving as head coach in 1982.

Ruslavage was the official timer for Clarion University wrestling from 1966 through 2005, and twice served as timer for the NCAA finals.
