Former Auditor General Jack Wagner Drops Out Of Pennsylvania Governor’s Race

March 27, 2014

Former state Auditor General Jack Wagner is the latest candidate to announce his withdrawal from the 2014 Pennsylvania Governor’s race.

Wagner said Wednesday he does not have the financial resources to continue his run.  Wednesday was the final day candidates could withdraw without having their names appear on the ballots for the May 20 primary elections.

From a field of candidates for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination which once totaled eight hopefuls, the list has now been narrowed down to four.  The remaining candidates intending to challenge incumbent Republican Tom Corbett are state Treasurer Rob McCord, former Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection Katie McGinty, Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz and York County businessman Tom Wolf.
