Flood Watch Expanded; In Effect Through Sunday Evening

February 22, 2018

The National Weather Service has expanded its Flood Watch, which is to be effective through Sunday evening, February 25, for local areas in and around the Oil Region.

NWS officials say the ground is very saturated, and the levels of local waterways remain high.  Additional rainfall is expected from now through Sunday morning.

A Flood Watch means there is the potential for flooding based on current weather forecasts.

In western Pennsylvania, the Flood Watch now also covers Venango, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Lawrence Counties.  It also pertains to much of West Virginia and portions of western Maryland.

Flood statements have already been in effect for other areas of western Pennsylvania.
