Governor Tom Corbett has ordered that all federal and state flags at the Capitol in Harrisburg and at state facilities across Pennsylvania be lowered to half-staff Wednesday in honor of Patriot Day, the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington D.C. and the Flight 93 incident here in Pennsylvania.

Patriot Day remembers those who died or were injured in the 9/11 attacks.  Most Americans also have taken the opportunity to honor those who responded to the attacks, including those who physically overcame the terrorists on Flight 93, which crashed in a wooded area of Somerset County.
