Three men were ejected from a vehicle, and a total of five were injured when their vehicle slammed into a guardrail on the northbound lanes of Interstate 79 in Mercer County early Sunday morning.

The five men, all from the Pittsburgh area, were all rushed to Grove City Medical Center.  Police say the driver, 20 year-old Dondi Kirby, from Monroeville, sustained a major injury.  Two of Kirby’s four passengers suffered severe injuries.

Police say Kirby’s vehicle left I-79 at about 12:15 AM Sunday, and “took out” about thirty feet of guardrail.  No other vehicles were involved.
