Early reports indicate that eight different fire companies responded to a report of a fire at Polk Center Wednesday night.
Although few details have been released, it has been reported that the fire damaged a cafeteria complex.
Firefighters responded at about 7:45 PM, and declared the blaze under control after about fifty minutes. Some crews stayed on the scene for nearly two hours.
No injuries were reported, and no cause of the fire has been released.
Earlier in the day, Oil City firefighters responded to a report of smoke at the Webco facility on Oil City’s North Side. A fire reported to have been contained to the plant’s duct work had been extinguished by employees. The fire crew pronounced the scene to be sound.
And, Tuesday afternoon, two fire crews put out a fire at a barn in Oakland Township. The blaze, reported at about 1:45 PM Tuesday, was extinguished within about forty minutes.
