Victim In Three-Vehicle Crash On Route 62 Identified As 17 Year-Old Mercer Girl

State Police officials have identified the teenager who died early Wednesday evening in a three-vehicle crash on Route 62 near Mercer as 17 year-old Samantha Coast, from the Mercer area.

Troopers say the crash occurred in Coolspring Township around 6:00 PM Wednesday when a car driven by 18 year-old William Cupic, from Mercer, went out of control on wet pavement and struck two pickups.  The other two drivers, identified as James Boughner, from Jackson Center, and 73 year-old Wendell Boyd, from New Wilmington, were not injured.

The victim was a passenger in Cupic’s vehicle.  Cupic’s injuries were reported to be minor.

The State Police investigation into the fatal crash continues.
