Law enforcement officials in Clarion say a Farrell man has been arrested in the drive-by shooting in that community which left a Clarion University student injured.

Clarion Borough Police said Tuesday they have charged 20 year-old Kevin Austin with attempted homicide, aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment and two firearms violations.  Austin is accused of shooting at an apartment complex on Leatherwood Drive in Clarion during a party in the early morning hours of February 2.   A 19 year-old woman, Rakeeah Merritt, was shot in the leg and required treatment at a Pittsburgh-area hospital for broken bones.

Bail for Austin was set at $500,000, and he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.
