A Rocky Grove man who was confined to a Pittsburgh-area correctional facility escaped last week, and authorities in Pittsburgh believe he may have attempted to return to Venango County.
A State Police report indicates that 30 year-old Michael Smith fled a Veterans Affairs clinic while on an authorized pass on January 10. Smith did not return to the Riverside Community Corrections Center.
Smith is described as a white male, standing 5-feet-9 and weighing 178 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
He was confined on a burglary sentence. Information on Smith’s whereabouts should be forwarded to the Pennsylvania State Police.
