A Franklin-area man has been identified as one of the drivers in a two-vehicle crash in Erie County which left an Erie man seriously injured.
State Police from the Corry station say the collision occurred around 7:00 AM Monday on Route 8 near Union City when an S-U-V driven by 44 year-old Russell Price, from Franklin, slid on ice into the path of an oncoming car. When the other vehicle was spun around and rolled onto its side, its driver, 39 year-old David Morris from Erie, was trapped inside.
After extrication from his vehicle, Morris was rushed to an Erie hospital. His injuries were described as “major.”
Price was not hurt.
Route 8 was closed in both directions for about an hour-and-a-half following the crash.
