Hunter English held off a weekend surge by Phil Mickelson to win the PGA’s St. Jude Classic at TPC Southland in Memphis.
English recorded a one-under-par 69 in Sunday’s final round to finish at 12-under-par 268 (66-64-69-69). On the weekend preceding the U.S. Open, English captured his first PGA title, and won $1.026 million.
Mickelson followed his 71 in Thursday’s first round with scores of 67, 65 and 67, and tied Scott Stallings for second place at -10. Ryan Palmer placed fourth at -9.
