A fire early Saturday morning destroyed a monuments business and an adjacent apartment on Riverside Drive in Cranberry Township, neighboring Oil City’s East End.
Both structures were declared total losses. Preliminary indications point to a wood stove as the apparent cause of the blaze.
Reports indicate the proprietor of the monument business, identified as Josh Kush, sustained burns to his back while removing dogs from his residence.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at the 63 year-old business shortly after 3:30 AM Saturday. They were on the scene for about four hours. A part of Riverside Drive was closed to traffic until about daybreak the same morning.
