The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office announced Wednesday that e-mails sent out earlier in the day, purporting to be from the A.G., are not from whom it may appear.

Officials say someone else is apparently using the name “OAG” to distribute spam e-mails.  The Attorney General’s spokesperson advised against viewing the e-mail, or clicking on to any of its links, and added that her office would never request private information via e-mail.

It appears that most of the e-mails were sent out between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Wednesday.
