The DuBois Junior League baseball all-stars dropped a 9-4 decision to Massapequa, New York on Tuesday night in the winners’ bracket final of the double-elimination Junior League Eastern Region Tournament in Freehold Township, New Jersey.

The loss by a DuBois team, which is now 2-1 in New Jersey and 13-1 overall, drops the Pennsylvania champion into the “B” bracket final, where they will play either Quincy, Massachusetts or Manchester, New Jersey at 4:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon.  Massachusetts and New Jersey will have met in an elimination game at 1:00 PM.  DuBois already holds a 3-1 victory over New Jersey.

A DuBois win on Wednesday would pair the Clearfield County squad once again with the New York champs in Thursday’s final(s).

The Junior League World Series, where the Freehold tournament winner will advance, will begin Sunday in Taylor, Michigan.
