One person was treated for injuries, and power needed to be restored to nearly fifty electric customers following a one-vehicle crash near Dempseytown on Friday morning.
Officials say a driver, whose identity they have not yet released, left Route 417 and slammed into a utility pole. The vehicle ended up on its side, covered by electric wires.
The male driver exited his vehicle by himself, and walked away from the scene of the crash, but was later taken to UPMC-Northwest in Cranberry for treatment.
Some area residents went without power for more than five hours following the accident which occurred shortly after 7:00 AM Friday morning.
