Administrators at Drake Well Museum and Park will observe the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s 333rd birthday in a Charter Day program on Sunday afternoon (March 9).
Charter Day is a statewide celebration that will commemorate the founding of Pennsylvania through the charter granted in 1681 to William Penn by King Charles II of Great Britain.
During Sunday’s event, Drake Well will host a special display highlighting the history of Native Americans here in the Oil Region. Collector John Sites will present and discuss his extensive Native American artifacts collection.
No admission will be charged for the observance Sunday from noon until 5:00 PM. Drake Well Museum and Park is located off Route 8, just south of Titusville.
