State Police officials just Thursday released details on a tractor-trailer crash that forced the closing of the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Clarion County during a snowstorm last Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say a rig operated by 56 year-old Scott Shucart, from Missouri, left the highway, hit an embankment and jackknifed, blocking both westbound lanes of traffic.  Traffic was stalled between the Strattanville and Clarion-New Bethlehem exits.

Shucart sustained injuries near his eyes due to broken eyeglasses, but was otherwise fine.  Earlier reports that a fuel spill was caused by the incident proved to be unfounded.

No other vehicles were directly involved.
