Crosby Scores In OT In Pen’s Win Over Philly’ Goaltender Murray Lost To Injury

Sidney Crosby’s overtime goal on Monday night lifted the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 5-4 come-from-behind overtime victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.

The winning score came 1:48 into the extra period of a game in which the Penguins lost starting goaltender Matt Murray to an unidentified leg injury.  Murray was replaced in goal by rookie Tristan Jarry (2-0-2), who earned the win.

Jake Guentzel scored twice for the Penguins (13-10-3), and Bryan Rust and Patric Hornqvist added goals.  The Pens peppered Flyers goalie Brian Elliott with 52 shots.

Shayne Gostisbehere, Travis Konecy, Sean Couturier and Michael Raffl scored for Philadelphia (8-9-7).  The Flyers are now 1-0-7 in overtime contests this season.

The Penguins will play a home-and-home series with the Buffalo Sabres on Friday and Saturday.  Radio pregame times both nights on 96.3 KQW will be 6:30 PM.
