Sidney Crosby scored career goals 400 and 401 on Sunday afternoon, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-1 win over the Blues in St. Louis.

The victory moves the Pens (31-22-4) to within four points of first-place Washington in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division.  The only other players to reach 400 goals while in a Pittsburgh uniform were present owner Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr.

Bryan Rust and Riley Sheahan also scored for the Penguins, and Matt Murray (19-12-2) stopped 33-of-34 shots to earn the win in goal.

Kyle Brodziak scored for St. Louis (34-21-3), and Jake Allen (19-16-2) stopped 19 of Pittsburgh’s 22 shots.

The Penguins’ win followed a 4-3 shootout loss in Dallas on Friday night.  Tyler Seguin recorded the only goal in the shootout, and Kari Lehtonen (9-5-1) went 3-for-3 in shootout saves after going 34-for-37 in the game itself.  Seguin, John Klingberg and Dan Hamhuis scored in regulation for Dallas.

Justin Schultz tied the game for Pittsburgh with 1:13 remaining in regulation, long after Sheahan and Carl Hagelin had given the Pens an early 2-0 advantage.  Murray stopped 33-of-36 shots.

The Penguins will host Ottawa (19-26-9) on Tuesday night.
