The Crawford County commissioners revealed Tuesday that repairs to the leaking county courthouse roof are expected to cost more than $700,000.
Water problems have been reported at numerous areas on the courthouse roof, and especially around the building’s clock tower.
About sixty percent of the estimated cost would actually come from the replacement of the roof. Apparently, asbestos removal and exterior restoration work would also be part of the job.
Commissioners will accept work bids until June 4. It is believed the project would be the first major renovation work at the Crawford County Courthouse in more than fifty years.
