The $5.7 million 2013 budget passed by the Cranberry Township supervisors last week includes a one mill real estate tax increase.

The tax hike is the first in the township in nine years, and translates to an increase of about ten dollars more per year for each $10,000 worth of assessed property value.

The budget was unanimously approved by Cranberry’s panel of three supervisors, who said the tax increase should result in the collection of over $300,000 toward next year’s budget.
