A statewide organization of clergymen held a rally at the state Capitol in Harrisburg on Monday morning to confirm their opposition to same-sex marriage in Pennsylvania.

Representatives of the Pennsylvania Pastors Network said they feel it was a mistake for a federal judge to strike down a state law banning gay marriage, and an even bigger mistake for Governor Tom Corbett to decide not to challenge the ruling.

Network president Sam Rorher told Radio PA News that they acknowledge that the number of states that no longer ban same-sex marriage is growing, but in his words, “It’s not something happening in states, it’s happening to states.”

The pastors are calling on the Governor to change his mind about appealing the ruling b y Judge John Jones III.  Although Corbett has already said he will not appeal, he officially has until June 20 to make a final decision.
