Clarion Rape Suspect Held For Trial On Eight Counts

A Philadelphia man was ordered held for trial on Wednesday in the reported rape of a Clarion University student at a university housing complex two weekends ago.

Police say the suspect, 22 year-old Tafari Haynes, also is a Clarion student.

Haynes is accused of raping a 19 year-old woman at a Clarion Township location during a Halloween party on October 26.  In addition to rape, charges include sexual assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, harassment and multiple counts of indecent assault.

Haynes was ordered tried on all counts.  He remains in the Clarion County Jail on $50,000 bond.
