The man who died in a two-car crash on Route 66 near Clarion on Thursday night has been identified as 27 year-old Daniel Scheestel, from Clarion.
A Cranberry couple, identified as 73 year-old Andrew Maitland and 70 year-old Joyce Maitland, were treated at Clarion Hospital following the fatal incident.
State Police say Scheestel was headed south on Route 66 in Paint Township shortly before 9:30 PM on Thursday, and slammed head-on into the Maitland’s vehicle. Scheestel was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
