A Clarion man was charged Friday in an incident in which he was accused of firing a shotgun toward a vehicle occupied by two other men.

Reports from Clarion County now indicate that one of the alleged victims was an off-duty police officer.

State Police in Clarion say 28 year-old Bryan Tavel faces two counts each of simple assault, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.

Police say late Friday morning, during an argument along Grand Avenue is Clarion, Tavel threatened to shoot a 25 year-old Clarion man, now said to be a police officer in Jefferson County.  Tavel is accused of leaving the scene, returning with a shotgun and firing a blast toward the other man’s vehicle.  Police have identified an 18 year-old Tionesta man as a second victim in the incident.

After his arraignment, Tavel was lodged in the Clarion County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
