For the third time in three days, first-responders were called to the scene of a fatal traffic accident in Clarion County on Friday afternoon.

State Police from the Clarion station say a Shippenville man died shortly after 1:00 PM on Friday when his car left Route 66 in Paint Township and slammed into a tree.  Troopers say the driver, Robert King, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Early reports did not list King’s age.

On Thursday night, State Police had reported that Richard Booth, Jr., from Clarion, had died when his S-U-V left Route 66 in Limestone Township, and traveled across a ditch and into the woods.

Early Wednesday evening, a 67 year-old Rimersburg man was killed when his motorcycle crossed completely across Route 68 in Monroe Township and left the road.  Accident investigators identified the victim of that crash as Richard Confer.
