A Clarendon man died Wednesday in the explosion of a crude oil tank at a commercial site in Warren County.
Officials say 26 year-old Nikolai Briggs was a welder working atop the tank. It is believed sparks from his welding torch may have caused the explosion.
Briggs’ body was found about sixty feet from the tank. A coroner ruled the cause of death as multiple injuries sustained from both the explosion and the fall.
The incident occurred along Irvine Run Road in Brokenstraw Township, west of Warren. An investigation continues.
