Chiefs Remain Perfect With 26-16 Thursday Night Win In Philadelphia

The Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) scored only one offensive touchdown on Thursday night, but they sailed to a 26-16 win over the Eagles in an NFL game played in Philadelphia.

On a night that marked the return of Kansas City coach Andy Reid to Philadelphia and the retirement by the Eagles of former quarterback Donovan McNabb’s jersey number, the Chiefs’ Alex Smith completed 22-of-35 passes for 273 yards, and Jamaal Charles rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown.  Eric Berry ran back an interception of a Michael Vick pass for a score, and Ryan Succop kicked four field goals.

Vick was only 13-for-30 for 201 yards with two picks, but he did deliver a TD pass to Jason Avant.  LeSean McCoy, who carried the ball 20 times for 158 yards for the Eagles (1-2), scored on a 41-yard run.  Alex Henery contributed a 29-yard field goal.

Kansas City’s Donnie Avery caught seven passes for 141 yards.  Charles also tallied seven receptions for 80 yards.  The Eagles’ top receiver was Avant with five catches for 87 yards.
