Officials have declared an automobile dealership’s building in Chapmanville a total loss after a fire early Monday evening, and an investigation has begun to determine the cause of the blaze.

Six fire companies responded to the fire on State Route 27 shortly after 6:30 PM on Monday.  Chapmanville firefighters say the building was fully involved in flames when they arrived on the scene.  Officials fought the blaze for about three hours.

The destroyed building was described as an auto dealership garage.  The garage held two vehicles at the time of the fire.  Firefighters kept the flames from damaging a house located about twenty feet away from the garage.

No injuries were reported.
