Butler Woman Pleads Down In Death Of Husband At Forest County Camp

A Butler woman has entered guilty pleas to reduced charges in a plea bargain in a case in which she was accused of shooting to death her husband.

Claiming her husband was physically abusing her before she shot him with a handgun at a camp in Forest County, 58 year-old Ruth Angert pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and attempted aggravated assault.    She had originally been charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault.

Mrs. Angert is charged in the death of 68 year-old Larry Angert during an argument at a camp in the Tionesta area on the evening of November 17.  Larry Angert was shot in the head, and died at the scene.

Ruth Angert is scheduled to be sentenced on June 21.
