The body of a missing Arizona truck driver whose last official sighting was in Franklin was found this week in a freezer in a garage near a home in Kansas City, Missouri.
53 year-old Lawrence Muirhead, from Tucson, was reported missing in early October. Although he had radioed his family that he was traveling through the Kansas City area, his last official stop for the company for which he worked came on September 28 in Franklin, where he picked up a load of steel sign posts bound for Arizona.
Muirhead’s tractor-trailer was discovered on October 4 in Meriam, Kansas. Muirhead’s death is being treated as a homicide by Kansas City police investigators.
In another twist to the bizarre story, a Kansas City television station is reporting that residents of the neighborhood where the body was found say the occupant of the home that is currently the crime scene was taken to the hospital in December, and that they have not seen the man since that day.
