Authorities say a body found in the Allegheny River in Oil City’s East End on Tuesday morning has been identified as that of a 26 year-old Oil City man.

The body of Ronald Feely, Jr. was discovered by a pedestrian around 8:30 AM Tuesday not far from the Wye Bridge near Pumphouse Road.  Feely had been reported missing Tuesday morning after his family learned he had failed to return home on Monday night.

Oil City firefighters recovered Feely’s body.

Feely was pronounced dead at the scene, but Oil City Police officials were not speculating on the cause of his death.  An autopsy was to be performed in Erie later in the day.  The Venango County Coroner’s office will release a report upon the completion of toxicology tests.
