Big Second-Half Surge Lifts Steelers To 40-17 Home Victory Over Tennessee

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns on Thursday night, and the Pittsburgh Steelers improved to 8-2 with a 40-17 home victory over the Tennessee Titans (6-4).

Antonio Brown was on the receiving ends of three of the scoring passes, having recorded ten receptions for 144 yards.  Roethlisberger also tossed a scoring lob to Jesse James.  He completed 30-of-45 passes without an interception.

Le’Veon Bell carried the football only 12 times for 46 yards, but caught nine passes for another 57 yards.  Chris Boswell booted four field goals.  The Steelers scored 24 second-half points after holding a lead of only 16-14 following a 75-yard scoring strike by the Titans on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter.

Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota threw the touchdown pass to Rishard Matthews.  Mariota also ran for a 7-yard score.  He completed 22-of-33 passes for 306 yards, but was picked off four times.  Mike Hilton, Coty Sensabaugh, Sean Davis and Robert Golden recorded the interceptions for the Steelers.

Pittsburgh, currently holding a three-and-a-half game lead in the AFC North, will host Green Bay in an 8:30 PM game on Sunday, November 26.
