Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell has finished third in the balloting for National League Rookie-of-the-Year.

Bell finished behind voting winner Cody Bellinger, of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and runner-up Paul DeJong, of the St. Louis Cardinals.  Aaron Judge, of the New York Yankees, won the American League Rookie-of-the-Year vote.

Bell batted .255, and set team and league records for most home runs by a switch-hitting rookie with 26.  He drove home 90 runs, hit .301 with 69 RBI’s with runners in scoring position, topped all other National League rookies in hits (140) and walks (66), and recorded a .992 fielding average.

The only Pirates player to win a Rookie-of-the-Year award was Jason Bay in 2004.
