A one month-old baby was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital Saturday night after a parked car operated by a Franklin-area woman was struck by a tractor-trailer along Interstate 80.
State Police say the incident occurred around 9:00 PM Saturday on the westbound lanes of I-80 near Knox.
Troopers say 22 year-old Shianne Hays, from Franklin, had pulled over onto the right berm because of an extensive snowfall when a westbound tractor-trailer skidded into her vehicle and sped from the scene.
The baby who was injured was riding in a child restraint seat installed behind the driver’s seat in Hays’ car. Hays and a front-seat passenger, 22 year-old Melinda Hoffman, from Butler, were treated at Clarion Hospital.
Police are still looking for the driver of the tractor-trailer.
