Attorney General Wants Conneaut Lake Park Trustees Removed

The state Attorney General’s office has filed a petition in Crawford County Court for the removal of the board of trustees overseeing Conneaut Lake Park.

The petition asks the court to appoint a new board, order trustees to cover the costs of the damages from the fires that destroyed the Beach Club at the park in August and the park’s Dreamland Ballroom in 2008, and for lost revenue opportunities the park has missed, and to order any other relief necessary for the park.

The filing alleges breach of fiduciary duty on the part of the current trustees.  It also alleges the trustees failed to take advantage of revenue-generating opportunities they were presented, directed business away from the on-site Hotel Conneaut and neglected to properly insure the properties that burned.
