Aston-Reese Leads Pens To Another Win – Their 10th Straight At Home

Rookie Zach Aston-Reese scoring the tie-breaking goal on a power play early in the third period on Thursday night, as the Pittsburgh Penguins won their tenth consecutive home game, defeating the Los Angeles Kings 3-1.

Aston-Reese has tallied his first three NHL goals over Pittsburgh’s last two games.

Ryan Reaves also scored for the Pens (33-22-4), and Evgeni Malkin added an empty-net score, his 32nd goal of the season.  Matt Murray (21-12-2) stopped 34-of-35 shots for his 21st victory.

Dion Phaneuf scored in his debut for Los Angeles (30-22-5) after having been acquired in a trade with Ottawa on Tuesday.  Jonathan Quick (21-21-2) took the loss.

The win kept the second-place Penguins three points behind Metropolitan Division leader Washington, who defeated Minnesota 5-2.

The Pens will host Toronto (35-19-5) on Saturday night.  Radio pregame time on 96.3 KQW will be 6:30 PM.
