Grant Haley returned a blocked field goal sixty yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 4:27 remaining on Saturday night, lifting the Penn State Nittany Lions to a 24-21 upset of second-ranked Ohio State at Beaver Stadium in State College.

Penn State (5-2; 3-1 Big Ten) had entered the game as a 19-point underdog, and the Buckeyes (6-1; 4-1) had won 20 straight road games.

Marcus Allen was credited with the block on the kick attempt.  Penn State’s defense sacked Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett twice on the Buckeyes’ final possession.

Nittany Lions quarterback Trace McSorley completed only 8-of-23 passes for 154 yards, but one completion was a touchdown pass to Chris Godwin.  McSorley also ran for a score.  Saquon Barkley carried the ball 12 times for 99 yards.

Barrett was 28-for-43 for 245 yards with a TD throw to Marcus Baugh.  Mike Weber and Curtis Samuel both rushed for 71 yards for the Buckeyes.

Penn State will visit Purdue on Saturday at noon.
