An armed man spotted near Keystone High School in Knox on Friday morning was apprehended without incident by Knox Borough Police.
Authorities later said the man is an “undocumented alien,” does not speak English, and was unaware he was near a school. His weapon turned out to be a B-B gun, and the man was apparently using it to shoot at birds. Knox Police Chief Jeff Prugh said the 23 year-old was turned over to U.S. Border Patrol officials.
Meanwhile, Keystone High School was placed on official lockdown status for about a half-hour, beginning at about 11:00 AM. The situation at the school were back to normal before the lunch hour.
In addition to Knox Police, State Police troopers, the Clarion County Sheriff’s Department, and officers from the Clarion Borough and Emlenton Police Departments also responded to the scene.
