8th Win For Jimmie Johnson At Martinsville

Jimmie Johnson pulled from the pack on a restart with eight laps remaining, and won for the 8th time at Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Virginia, taking Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup STP Gas Booster 500.

Johnson moved into first place in this season’s Sprint Cup points standings, and into third place on the list of winners at Martinsville, behind Richard Petty (15 wins) and Darrell Waltrip (11).

Clint Bowyer finished second on Sunday, and Jeff Gordon, who has won seven times at Martinsville, placed third.
