Pennsylvania Lottery officials say the “triple 7’s” (777) drawn Tuesday evening in the evening version of the state’s Daily Number lottery paid out $5.56 million to lottery players across the state.

7-7-7, normally the heaviest-played three-digit lottery number, had not been a winner in the evening draw since September 17, 2011.  The Pennsylvania Lottery website further shows that three 7’s have not been drawn in the midday version of the game since March 8, 2007.

Winning tickets would be worth $500 for every dollar bet on the number.
